This Darth Vader helmet was Master Pattern Cast from the original vintage George Lucas Studio molds by Rick Baker of the screen-used helmet in 1977 (not a digital scan) and thus have a direct lineage to the original, screen-used helmet. The two-piece helmet is constructed almost entirely of highly-polished black Perspex, a proprietary acrylic used by the film industry’s top special effects modellers. The helmet is joined to the mask at the crown. Inside, the “breath screen” is held in place with plastic filler, as are the eye lenses, which are lightly tinted but appear black from the outside.
Display: This item comes in its own custom designed plexiglass display case – museum quality.
Authentication: Forensically authenticated in person by RM Real.
This helmet is on consignment with us, so we have to start the bidding at a higher bid than normal. (First bid minimum: $2800).
